The gaming world is buzzing with two very different stories this week. On one hand, fans of Rockstar Games are nervously watching the calendar, wondering if Grand Theft Auto 6 will actually make its 2025 release window. On the other, a classic monster brawler has quietly returned, and it is turning out to be a lot more fun than anyone expected.
Let's start with the elephant in the room. GTA 6 has already been delayed once, pushing its launch from early 2025 to later in the year. But now, some industry insiders are whispering that a third delay might be on the table. The reasoning is simple: the game is massive, and Rockstar is known for polishing its titles until they shine. Rushing a project of this scale would be a disaster. A buggy launch would hurt the brand more than a few extra months of waiting. Players are already frustrated, but most would rather wait for a finished product than deal with broken missions or server issues. The real question is whether Take-Two Interactive, the publisher, will allow the studio to take the time it needs. Shareholders want profits, but a half-baked GTA 6 could tank the company's reputation for years.
Meanwhile, over in the land of giant lizards, Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Remastered has arrived. And honestly, it is way better than it has any right to be. The original game from 2002 was a chaotic arena fighter where you picked a kaiju and wrecked entire cities. The remaster keeps that core loop intact but adds modern controls and cleaner visuals. The result is pure, unapologetic fun. You can play as Godzilla, Mothra, Mechagodzilla, or even King Ghidorah, each with unique moves and special attacks. The destruction physics are simple but satisfying. Buildings topple, tanks explode, and the military is completely useless against you. It is not a deep game, but it does not need to be. It is a power fantasy done right, and the online multiplayer is a chaotic blast with friends.
So, what is the takeaway here? Rockstar should probably take a lesson from the monster game. Sometimes, you just need to deliver on the promise of fun. GTA 6 does not need to be perfect. It needs to be playable and enjoyable. If that means another delay, so be it. Because right now, the only thing crushing cities is Godzilla, and he is having a great time.
