We put Fortnite through its paces on three major cloud gaming services available in Canada: GeForce NOW, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and Amazon Luna. The goal was simple. Find out which platform delivers the best experience for battle royale fans in 2026.
Latency is the make or break factor for Fortnite. GeForce NOW consistently delivered the lowest input lag during our sessions, with build fights and quick scope shots feeling responsive. Xbox Cloud Gaming held its own but showed occasional stutter during busy moments. Luna landed in the middle, playable but not quite as tight as NVIDIA's offering.
Graphics quality told a similar story. GeForce NOW streamed at higher resolutions with cleaner textures and steadier frame rates, especially on the ultimate tier. Xbox Cloud looked softer by comparison, and Luna's visuals were decent but lacked sharpness during fast motion.
Price matters too. GeForce NOW offers a free tier with limits and paid options that scale with performance. Xbox Cloud Gaming bundles into Game Pass Ultimate, which adds value if you want a large library beyond Fortnite. Luna's subscription sits somewhere between the two but offers fewer reasons to commit if Fortnite is your main game.
Game library is where Xbox pulls ahead. Fortnite is free everywhere, but Game Pass brings hundreds of titles to the table. GeForce NOW relies on titles you already own, while Luna's catalog remains the thinnest of the three.
After testing all three, GeForce NOW takes the win for Fortnite specifically. Latency and visual quality matter most in a competitive shooter, and NVIDIA delivers on both. Xbox Cloud Gaming is the better pick if you want variety. Luna needs more polish before it can compete at the top.
