Dylan Faden Did Nothing Wrong, Except For Everything He Did Wrong

The conversation around Remedy's connected universe has taken an interesting turn lately. Fans keep returning to Dylan Faden, the complicated brother at the center of Control's strangest threads. The new discussion digs into why Remedy games just hit different, and it does not take long before the topic shifts to something unexpected: architecture.

Luke delivers a monologue about the power of architecture that somehow ties the whole thing together. Buildings in these games are never just backdrops. The Oldest House is a character, a shifting maze of brutalist concrete that reflects the inner state of everyone trapped inside it. Dylan's story plays out across those corridors, and the spaces he occupies say as much about him as any line of dialogue.

The argument goes that Dylan did nothing wrong, at least not in the way people assume. He was shaped by forces beyond his control, manipulated by the Hiss and used by the Bureau long before he ever pushed back. But then again, everything he did wrong is impossible to ignore. He hurt people. He made choices that cannot be undone. The tension between those two truths is what makes him compelling.

That contradiction is exactly why Remedy's storytelling stands apart. It refuses easy answers and trusts players to sit with the discomfort.
