Players diving into the latest James Bond adventure, 007: First Light, will quickly find that the world's most famous spy spends a surprising amount of time fiddling with combination locks and safes. Unlike the fast-paced gunfights and car chases, these puzzles require a steady hand and a sharp eye for clues scattered around the environment. If you are stuck on a stubborn safe or a locked door, here is a breakdown of every code you need to progress through the game.
The first major safe appears early in the mission set in a Swiss bank vault. The combination is 0-7-1. This is a direct nod to Bond's famous "007" designation, but the game does not make it obvious. You will find the hint on a torn note tucked behind a potted plant in the adjacent office. Next, a heavy security door in the same level requires the code 1-9-6-2. This references the year of the first James Bond film, "Dr. No." The clue is etched faintly into a metal plaque near the doorframe.
Later, in a snowy mountain facility, you will encounter a floor safe holding a keycard. The combination here is 4-2-8. The numbers correspond to the number of letters in the words "M," "Q," and "Moneypenny" from a discarded personnel file. For the final locked armory door in the game, the code is 0-0-7. It is the simplest of the bunch, but the game hides the clue in a coded radio transmission that you must decrypt first. Keep these numbers handy, and you will never be locked out of a secret room or a stash of ammunition.
