Apple Vision Pro to stream live MLB games in Immersive Video

Apple is bringing live baseball to its Vision Pro headset with a new slate of Friday night games. The company announced that four regular season MLB matchups will be streamed in Immersive Video, the 180-degree format that places viewers inside the stadium. Each broadcast will include its own dedicated commentary team, separate from the traditional television feed.

The first game is scheduled for May 30, with three more following in June. Apple has not released the full list of teams yet, but the company says the selected games will feature top matchups from across the league. The streams will be available exclusively to Vision Pro users through the Apple TV app, and they will also be shown in the headset's virtual cinema environment for those who want a more traditional viewing angle.

This is not the first time Apple has experimented with immersive sports. The company previously aired select MLS and MLB games in the format, but this marks the first full slate of live regular season games with dedicated announcers. The commentary will be produced specifically for the spatial audio experience, with sound placed around the viewer to mimic being in the stands.

Apple has not said whether the games will be available on demand after the live broadcast. The company is expected to share more details about the schedule and team matchups closer to the first pitch. For now, Vision Pro owners can mark their calendars for Friday nights in late May and June.
